Scarabs

SIgnificance: In Egypt, Scarabs were really popular. They were used as amulets, seals, and were also incorperated into jewelry. Scarabs were produced a lot in Ancient Egypt, and that is why we find many survivors. The Scarab, to Egyptians, was a lot like the great god Ra, as they roll balls of dung to eat or reproduce. The god Ra, would roll the sun across the sky as the day starts.
Scarabs were extremely popular in the Middle Kingdom, (around 2000 BCE) and were popular from then on.
